two jurisdictions and two education systems can concentrate on Rotary aims and ideals.
Many of my colleagues in the 28 other Districts of RIBI are currently involved in the restructuring of their Districts.
But Rotary Ireland, District 1160’s new name remains as one unit and how pleased we should be about that.

I hope that many Rotarians will attend the RIBI Conference in Birmingham (11-14 April); it is always good to meet other members of the Rotary family! And I do hope that others from this District will join me at the Convention in Sydney Australia (1-4 June) where we will celebrate RI President Ron Burton’s theme Engage Rotary Change Lives and its implementation across the globe in 2013/2014.
I am happy to report that the
partnerships introduced at the Annual Conference in September are being nurtured and that the District Grant is underway.
The theme of the District Council in January was the Presidential Citation application.
Having to date visited fifty three clubs and looking forward to visiting the remaining twenty clubs within the next two months, I know the good work which is being done throughout Rotary Ireland so I encourage all clubs to apply for the Presidential Citation (closing date 31 March 2014)
In conclusion best wishes to DGE Phillip and the team of 2014/2015 who are in the final stages of preparation for the next Rotary year!
