Live 24-Seven -Wye Valley Diary Fun For Little Ones

With a cast of 70 puppets and a soundtrack of African and South American music, Jactito will be bringing the story of Rapunzel to life for The Courtyard's annual show for children aged under six.

Jactito is a travelling theatre company that tours the country and abroad. Founded in 1976, the company is nationally acclaimed for its extraordinary visual presentations and has built a strong reputation for producing innovative and engaging work. This includes exciting adaptations of Shakespeare's plays and an original take on the classic fairytale The Snow Queen, shown at The Courtyard last year.

For the tinier ones Rapunzel is an enchanting alternative to The Courtyard’s traditional annual pantomime this festive season. See the show in the Studio Theatre from December 16 to 24 with times ranging from 9.30am, 11.30 am, 1.45pm and 2.30pm. The show lasts just under an hour.

Town Launches A Billion Kisses

England’s Mistletoe Capital, Tenbury Wells, is gearing up for Christmas with its annual celebration of the berry and its bounty.

During December the programme of events includes winter produce markets, a Santa Parade (December 7 from 4pm) and a carol celebration (December 10 at 3pm, St Michaels Church) − not forgetting the all important international mistletoe auctions (December 3 and 10).

For little ones there’s also Mistletoe Magic - storytelling for the under 7's with Cat Weatherill, one of the UK's busiest and best loved storytellers. She delights in working with infants, and they love her in return! Cat is at The Pump Rooms in Tenbury on December 7 from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Festival Project Manager and member of the Tenbury Mistletoe Association, Caroline Palethorpe, said: “The extended cold period in February and March was ideal for early pollination of the mistletoe plants and we are confident that this year’s berries will be of a high quality. For Tenbury Wells this heralds the start of an important season both socially and economically. ”

More information about the international mistletoe auctions and the Mistletoe Festival can be found on the website www.tenbury-mistletoe-festival.co.uk
