One's mind tends to drift on to either the weather, how quickly the year has passed us by and how busy we are. So I promise to avoid all three of those subjects! Instead I'm going to start by wishing all of you a very happy christmas and a healthy and prosperous new year!
We are all feeling rather 'jittery' in the salon (no other word for it), as we are literally on the cusp of finding out whether we are going to be the recipient of one or two or possible three awards that we are nominated for with the run up to Christmas. We are also busy entering yet another award, this time for consumer title HAIR which we will hear about in the New Year.
In the meantime however, first things first! Next Monday finds us back at the good old Grosvenor Hotel in London – a superb venue – just nice to be there every year to be honest – but wow – what it would mean to win! We last brought home the title of British Hairdressing Awards Midlands Hairdresser of the Year category in 2004 – and how I've longed for it since! My whole year tends to revolve around these awards from picking the models as early as February to shooting them in April to entering the photographs in June for them to be judged in September and now to go to the awards in November – it truly is a year long exercise! So do wish us luck!

The following Monday we are back up in town again, this time for the Fellowship for British Hairdressing's exquisite Luncheon & Awards. Kicking off at 11am and taking us through to late afternoon it really is a superb event and a time to share with colleagues from throughout the industry. Delighted that Ashley Thompson and Sam Millard will be joining us at this event this year – Ashley as he's just completed a year long Fellowship Project X programme and Sam
Millard who has made it to the final eight for the Fellowship's F.A.M.E. Team, not forgetting myself who has made it through to the coveted title of Fellowship Signature Style of the Year with my favourite image from the collection!
So that will bring us back to Hereford a few pounds heavier and with a serious bump for a very busy December (now then I promised not to say how busy we were – just can't help myself!). We all look forward to seeing you and ensuring that you look your best not only at this very sociable time of year but throughout 2014!
