kind of get reacquainted. We recorded some stuff and lived with it for a while and decided it wasn't good enough. So we went in again. Well, actually, first we went to Mexico. I've got a place in Mexico, and we went down there and spent about a week writing songs every day, and hanging out and just having a good time. A lot of that is what this record is. Of course some of the songs we already had, or had already started writing. But we finished 'em all up while we were down there. And we came back and went over to Gary's house and went in. We recorded all the tracks and everything in two and a half days. Then we spent a couple of months, you know, adding a little bit of per- cussion here and there, and worked on vo- cals and fin- ished it up.
There are so many great songs on the record. My favorite might be "Just When I Need You The Most." Yeah, that's a beautiful song. That's one Glen wrote. He co-wrote it with another writer. I just can't remember who right at the moment.
And I just love "Sure Feels Good (Bein' Me)". It kind of tells it like it is. (Laughs) It pretty much is, I don't know. We were in Mexico just having a good time doing this stuff. And one day Glen says, "Boy it sure feels good bein' me." I said wooooah! Let's write that one!"
Oh yeah! Not having to answer to anybody! That’s a good place to be. A great place to be! (Laughs)
You have re- ally had a huge suc- cess with your Sandy Beach Cruises. This year will be what, the 20th one? (Laughs) Yep. The 20th one. January of 2014.
Do you find
that you have a lot of the same people coming back each year? Oh yeah. We have like a 70 percent return rate on the cruise. It's got a life of it's own. It's a wonderful thing. •
