Federal Police: The Federal Police of Brazil main assignments are the investigations of crimes against the Federal Government or its organs and companies, the combat of international drug trafficking and terrorism, and immigration and border control police (including airports and water police). It has jurisdiction over all national territory and has a modern and functional structure that enables planning, coordination and centralized control and decentralized execution. Its current structure allows for excellent performance, and encourages integration with the various federal government agencies


CTEx: The Army's Technology Center, or Centro Tecnológico do Exército, is located in Guaratiba, just outside Rio de Janeiro, and is the Army agency for military CBRN defence research. CTEx provides scientific and technological advice through the Department of Defense QBN.The QBN Defence Division conducts the following activities: identifying CBRNE agents in their laboratory facilities; specification of technical performance of CBRN defence equipment; selection and testing of CBRN defence equipment; development of sampling methodologies; training in response to disasters with CBRNE agents; operating a mobile laboratory for the identification of CBRNE agents.


ArgIQ: ArgIQ is a newly formed non for profit organization devoted to Information Quality. Defence against WMD is one of their core projects and has been an ArgIQ priority for a number of years.ArgIQ staff members have more than 10 years of experience in the field and are lead by Prof. Maria Jose Espona, biologist, currently doing her PhD in International Relations. In the last years,ArgIQ supported meetings about biological weapons (Challenges to the Scientific and Technological Progress: Biological Nucleus) and nuclear weapons (Nuclear Cooperation:Argentina and Brazil Case Study) both with international and local participants. Prof. Espona participates in several international projects, for example the BWPP REvCon Discussions and the translation to Spanish of the EMR.
