CLASS NOTES AND NEWS
1961 Jenny (Ogata) Yoshizumi trav- eled from Hilo, Hawaii, to visit Susan (Barstow) and Paul Thomas in Granby, Conn. They visited campus and it was Yoshizumi’s first time at Springfield College in 26 years. She was amazed by the changes on campus.
1962 Richard Sproul and his wife, Ruth, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by boat- ing on the Amazon River for six days and experiencing what he refers to as the “seventh wonder of the world,” Machu Picchu.
1963 Ray ’63, G’68, and Susan Gilbert met in 1971 when she worked in the College registrar’s office. They married in 1972, and for their 40th wedding anniversary, their children Megan Gilbert, Kim Gilbert Mayo ’00 and her husband, Kevin Mayo ’00, took them on a trip down memory lane, starting with the campus of Springfield College where they met. Says Sue, “We had a wonderful day visiting the beautiful campus, our first home, the church
where we were married, and even Frankie & Johnnie's Pizza!” They have two grandchildren, Kate and Nathan Mayo.
