Bath Cats & Dogs Home Launches
New Family-Friendly Bike Ride Animal charity encourages families to get fit and ‘get on yer bike’! -
This year, Bath Cats and Dogs Home is organising a 12-mile family-friendly bike ride from Bath’s Victoria Park to Saltford on Sunday 11th August. The bike ride hopes to raise vital funds for the charity in a year that has seen a dramatic rise in animal cruelty cases.
A 33-mile and 50-mile bike ride for cycling amateurs and wannabe Bradley Wiggins will also take place starting and finishing in Bath’s Victoria Park via Chew Valley and Chew Valley Lake.
Claverton the Dog (pictured), the Home’s official mascot, will be donning his very own cycling shorts and will kick start proceedings. Claverton will also be on hand throughout the day to entertain the crowds.
Zena Jones, Events and Community Fundraiser, explains: “We really wanted to give families and their children the opportunity to take part in our popular
annual Bike Ride; the Bath to Saltford route is a flat and traffic-free cycle path with some spectacular countryside views. Come rain or shine, it’s a fun day out for all the family.”
All cyclists who take part are asked to raise a minimum of £75 per individual or £75 per family for the animal charity.
