SNAPSHOT STEM SURVEY RESULTS
On 25th April, Carl Gilleard presented his last ever TARGETjobs Breakfast News event. As always, he couldn’t have done it without the help of our members, who took the time to complete a short survey online. The subject of his presentation was ‘Recruiting from STEM subjects’ – here are a few of his key findings: • 45% of respondents believe there is a serious problem with the supply of STEM graduates. 50% believe there is a manageable problem.
• 59% think there is issue in the sector with regards to gender diversity. The majority of respondent believe that the solution to overcome the problems in the sector is to offer internships, and to provide better promotion of STEM subjects in schools.

HEAR AND SOCIAL MOBILITY TOOLKITS
ADVISORY COUNCIL
The second AGR Advisory Council meeting took place in April, during which your sector representatives shared your concerns and suggestions with the AGR board. Some key takeaways from this meeting were: • Advisory Council members will endeavour to be even more visible to the wider membership in the coming months, in order to gather even more feedback for the consideration of the board.
• The priority over the next 12 months is to encourage further AGR participation from members. Advisory Council reps will be on-hand to shed light on the wide range of opportunities available.
• Advisory Council reps will have greater involvement in the planning of Sector Focus Group meetings.

AGR SUMMER SURVEY 2013
THANKS TO OUR PREMIER SPONSORS!
This year, our regular premier sponsor, GuardianJobs (eight years and counting!), have joined forces with a consortium of universities to support this year’s conference. The universities in question are: Leicester, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bristol and Leeds. Everyone at AGR would likely to publicly thank everyone involved in this collaboration for backing the event, and we look forward to meeting everyone on the 7th July!
Thanks to all those AGR employers who recently completed the latest edition of the AGR Summer Survey. We will, as usual, be launching the findings at our Annual Conference, which will take place from 7th - 9th July, 2013.
HAVE YOU JOINED OUR DIVERSITY FORUM?
Diversity is an ever-important issue for our members, and to help give this topic as much high-level exposure as possible, we’ve recently launched a new free-to-attend diversity forum, the first of which was held in May. If you would like to be included in this group and attend future meetings, email
