If there was anybody around new year's eve, who still had a doubt that Bayern Munich is going to win the German championship, I believe they are most certainly convinced by now that they will, especially with the 12-point-lead they now hold at this stage in the race which they will not by any stretch of the imagination lose.

Reigning champion Borussia Dortmund in strong pursuit won their top clash match against Bayer Leverkusen in a very tough game which ended with a score of 3-2 as they switched spots on the table.

Newly promoted squad Eintracht Frankfurt are showing more and more why they got upgraded as they become a serious contender for Champions-League-qualification.

Jens Keller

Schalke 04 are stuck in a crisis. In fact they move from disaster to disaster, having fired "century-coach" Huub Stevens replacing him with an inexperienced youth- coach in Jens Keller. The former U17-coach seems to be the wrong man for the job. The fact is that he's not capable of having any positive influence on the team. The problem became even more exacerbated with their 1:2 loss against Greuther Fürth - the last place

team in the league which had lost 17 consecutive games before the match with Schalke 04.

Down at the bottom of the league, Hoffenheim gets renewed inspiration from new keeper Heurelho Gomes. The Brazilian a former third-choice keeper at Tottenham re- placed Germany's former international Tim Wiese between the posts, who most cer- tainly regrets his transfer from Werder Bremen to Hoffenheim last summer. For Hof- fenheim it will have to be one giant leap away from the relegation ranks.
