Murielle Ahoure: “I’m definitely excited, really really happy about the time! This was my last meet, I’m shutting it down, going back to Houston, Texas, to the warm and sunny weather and I’m going to focus on the 100 and 200 meters outdoors.

ASM: Did you change something in your training for this year?

Murielle Ahoure: “Not really, I mean last year was my first year on the circuit, I was fresh and new and naïve and I knew nothing, so, I feel like the experience I got just from being at the Olympics and running at that stage, I was able to really work on my nerves and every- thing so it’s just a blessing to be here really.”

About the outdoors: “Definitely getting again to those finals and hopefully medaling. I have no idea [what I will run] but I know I have 10 seconds in me. Based on this per- formance today for sure”

I was also privy to witness one of the most dominant African male middle distance runners in Abubaker Kaki of the Sudan who took to the track in his specialty; the 800 meters :

Kaki: “It was a good race, I think it’s a fun race in- doors and this is my first race since the Olym- pics so it’s ok. “I will run next Friday in Stockholm and that will be my last indoor meet. “Outdoors I’m gonna go hard, after indoors I’m gonna work hard and come back strong. Everyone is training for a medal, so that’s my goal too.”

Other African Stars who were at the meet that I had an opportunity to witness and talk to were;

Genzebe Dibaba who was also at the meet was very happy of winning her races so far. She also expects to do well at the world championships. Although she won the 3km international cross in Edinburgh early this
