STG’s product flexibility highlighted in new video

Desso Aviation will be presenting its latest innovation at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2013 by launching a new lightweight carpet. Desso has been enjoying a global reputation for its craftsmanship for over 20 years, as demonstrated by the AS 9100 Revision C certification which Desso received in May 2011 as the first carpet manufacturer worldwide. As such, the company’s ambition is to deliver innovative, commercial and practical solutions. The latest development in this regard is the new lightweight carpet; a revolutionary product with a maximum weight reduction of up to 40 percent compared to market standards. The new product – name to be unveiled at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2013 – is a Wilton woven nylon carpet with a weight of 1100 grams per square metre or 33 oz per square yard. This is 350 to 800 grams less than conventional nylon carpet. The new product is made with sustainable and eco-friendly yarn, and offers exceptional value for money without compromising on technical performance.

A new video from STG Aerospace shows graphically how SafTglo, a leading photoluminescent (PL) floorpath marking system, won’t crack under pressure. Demonstrated by STG’s engineer Jonathan Jones, the video highlights SafTglo’s flexibility and strength as a sample of product is bent through 180 degrees. Richard Moore, Chief Executive, STG

Aerospace, said: “SafTglo can be bent without threatening its integrity or performance and its unique design means it is flexible and infinitely

reusable. Resilience and robustness are vital qualities for floorpath marking systems, which are constantly subjected to the wear and tear of passenger footfall and frequent cabin interior updates. It also makes installation much easier.” SafTglo will be exhibiting its full range of PL systems at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2013, including its unique pattern matching service which allows the floorpath marking to match the actual design of the carpet. SafTglo is available in two widths, two profiles and up to 300 different colours.
