The Backcountry News Public Lands Trails Conference and Symposiums in early 2013
These get togethers might be good to promote Backcountry Horsemen tenents and philosophies. Good place to share with others using trails. First, the 2013 International Trails Symposium (used to be the National Trails Symposium) is being held in Arizona, April 14-17 at the Radisson Fort McDowell Resort plus there's other hotels in the area, how many of you or organizations you belong to are planning on attending? Or do you know anyone planning to attend? Are you planning on attending?
The AQHA is sponsoring a
Horse Caucus. A trail ride across the Verde River is planned. Horsecamping is available if you bring your own horse. Me, I'm giving a presentation on "Weed Free Feed -- fact or fiction".

Secondly, the 2013 California Trails & Greenways Conference is being held May 8 -10 at Lake Tahoe's Granlibakkeen Conference Center and Lodge. There will be horsecamping available. How many of you or organizations you belong to are planning on attending? Or do you know anyone planning to attend? Or are you planning on attending? I've giving another presentation there on "Managing Noxious/Invasive Weeds At Multi-Use Trail Heads". I'm using the NPS study done at Dominician University plus the one AERC did and you can bet your bottom dollar that at THIS Conference, I'm not just going to talk about horse manure and weed free feed but mountain bikers, mountain bike tires, hikers and backpackers gear too!
