Jonathan Kite
With the return of smash hit comedy Broke Girls to E4, one of it’s stars Jonathan Kite takes our HOTseat for a grilling on his alter ego, everyone’s favourite sex pest cook, Oleg.
HM: Hi Oleg, oops sorry I mean Jonathan, you must get that a lot huh? Not as much as I get, “Sorry, I don’t have any change.”
HM: So how’s business with the car service? Did it have the desired effect on Sophie? Is marriage and a bunch of Oleg Juniors on the cards for season 2??? The car service hasn’t been touched on yet this season. I’m not sure what will become of it but if you need a ride call 800-I-LUV-SEX and Oleg will give you a ride... and take you where you want to go.
HM: We want to get to know Oleg a bit more, tell us how did he end up in Brooklyn working at the diner and where did he get his culinary skills? I don’t know. Oleg is a man of mystery. He may have come over on a cruise ship as a cook/stripper. Or perhaps he saw an American movie and fell in love with our women. Who’s to say. His culinary skills were probably passed down from generation to generation. Or maybe he just watches a lot of Food Network.
HM: Oleg is known for his one-liners, one of our faves is “
..Captain Oleg of the amazing party in my pants”. What’s yours? They’re all my children, so no favorites but I am partial to the scene where Oleg puts food in the
window and says its for table 69. Caroline says there isn’t a table 69. Then later in the scene, Oleg puts up another plate, dings the bell and says, “Table 6” and walks away. Just as he is out of frame, he swoops back into the scene and says “D 9”.
HM: We usually ask our interviewees about their fave places in the city they’re from. So we may regret this but we’d like to ask Oleg his fave places in Brooklyn to; 1. Go shopping - Sleeveless Mart 2. Go dancing - Club Commie 3. Go for a drink - I make vodka in my bathtub so we can rinse off after getting sloppy, then dirty 4. Go for a walk - Little Russia in Brighton Beach 5. Have a bite…. to EAT! I cook at home a lot, in the kitchen and in the bedroom
