18 INTERVIEW Yo! Butler
HM: So Mike, what is YoButler? YoButler is a new way to save time for busy Londoners. You can hire a personal helper for £15 an hour, without having to pay any joining or membership fees. Essentially it allows you to buy the most valuable commodity, time.
HM: How exactly does it work? It’s super simple. Go to www.
yobutler.com and request a butler to help with a specific task or chore. Our team then allocates the person with the most relevant skillset. All of the butlers are insured and professionally trained to please all needs of our customers.
HM: Give us an example of the kinds of tasks customers usually request help with? We help out at parties by mixing drinks, providing waiter service, tidying up, also running household chores. Errands like ironing, picking up dry cleaning or lunch, grocery shopping or mounting your IKEA furniture and general DIY. We also had a butler queuing for the iPhone 5 on the launch day. The list of services is long; check it out at www.yobutler. com/services

HM: Can you describe the light bulb moment that led to YoButler. Adil, one of the Co-Founders, had the light bulb moment when he once couldn’t find a service to buy last minute groceries for a dinner date and lay out the scenery, while he was busy working.
HM: How did you get involved in the project? I was already active within the startup world for a while, preparing us for the right opportunity and working on a few smaller projects. One day Adil came up with the idea and the team was created within a jiff.
HM: So how do you find your YoButlers? There’s talk of a Hunger Games style recruitment process on the website…Butler Wars?? LOL. Not that brutal, but yes we are very selective about who we take on board. Especially now that the team
