Indeed, the comments from individual interns and employers alike reinforces the importance of well managed, professional internship projects like this and hopefully the Careers and Employability Service will be able to continue to run the Hull Internship Programme, under the banner of “attract talent.”


We would always urge students to engage with the careers and employability service early on in their university careers. We are a truly professional service unlike


many of the fly by night start up companies professing to be able to offer students a ‘package of employability’ with the false promise of a well paid job at the end of it.


There are a lot of companies out there offering to hook students up with employers and offering so- called employability service – but on the basis of what? These types of companies are simply recruitment agencies and quite often those that work within them have very little experience of career planning or


graduate recruitment. Students need to be careful of them.


I appreciate that if you have left career planning to the last minute you may be feeling nervous or panicking about your future. However, it’s much better to visit us and use a professionally accredited service, with a global reputation for providing insightful, honest and impartial advice.
