Saving Ightham Mote Mote Restaurant February 25


Listen to architect Stuart Page as he describes how he helped to save Ightham Mote from decay. When the National Trust became the owners in 1985 it was evident that the house was in need of some substantial conservation. The work was carried out over a 15-year period. Lambing Weekend Hadlow College March 10-11 Come along to celebrate the spring and see new lambs. You might even be lucky enough to witness some


being born. There are plenty of other attractions too, including stalls, produce and the wonderful Broadview Gardens. The weekend takes place from 11am to 4pm both days and costs £10 for a family. Booking not necessary.


Spring Colour Beech Court Gardens, Challock opens March 17, for the 2012 season


Come and discover the beautiful Beech Court Gardens. Spring heralds a fine show of rhododendrons, azaleas and viburnums and the garden is framed by many varieties of rare trees including the tallest eucryphia in Kent. The gardens have a Disabled Silver Access Award, and are open Saturdays to Thursdays (and Fridays for groups only).


National Garden Scheme Godinton House & Gardens, Ashford March 25 Godinton House & Gardens is open to support the work of the National Gardens Scheme. Come and enjoy a walk through the spectacular wild garden, which will be a mass of daffodils, fritillaries and other spring flowers.


Fun with Fifi and Bumble Kent & East Sussex Railway, Tenterden


March 31 An exciting new event comes to Kent’s popular steam railway in Tenterden. Families will enjoy a 25- minute steam train journey


along the picturesque line from Tenterden before alighting to meet two of children’s TV’s favourite characters, Fifi Forget-me-not, and her garden friend Bumble. ‘Rock with the Tots’ is a stage show designed to entertain the whole family and encourage children to get out and explore the garden.
