Snowdon is one of Britain's most well-known photographers, especially renowned for his portraits of the rich and famous. This touring exhibition from Pallant House Gallery features his images of notable British artists, from influential sixties artists Peter Blake and Eduardo Paolozzi, to 'Young British Artists' such as Damien Hurst and the Chapman brothers. Many of these iconic photographs are highly personal and candid, capturing the spirit of their time.


Rock 'n' Gem show The Hop Farm, Paddock Wood January 21 - 22


Mineral enthusiasts are set to be wowed at the amazing array of crystals and precious stones on sale at The Hop Farm Rock 'n' Gem show with gems, fossils and beads ranging from pocket money prices to thousands of pounds. More than 30 exhibitors from across Europe will show off and sell precious ornaments.


Artisan Market Canterbury January 28


Artisan is Canterbury district’s very own arts, craft and food market. The market showcases a variety of handmade contemporary craft from selected talented artists, designers and makers from all over Kent. Artisan operates every fourth Saturday in Canterbury, from 9am to 5pm.


Winter Birds Riverside Country Park, Rainham January 28


Join a ranger for a walk to Horrid Hill and Eastcourt Meadow for a chance to birdwatch along the estuary. Suitable for beginners or those with some experience. Stout footwear and suitable clothing is essential. Not suitable for children under 12 years old. £1.50 per person. Book in advance.

The guided winter walks take place on the first Friday of the month and are a splendid way to enjoy the clear views in the winter parkland, see the deer and take in the peace and quiet of Knole. Ghost Tours Dover Castle February 3


Not for the faint hearted, this evening guided tour takes you through Dover Castle's most haunted areas. You will hear the true experiences of those who work at the castle and find out the myths and legends surrounding this ancient site.
