Chance to Dance Winter The STAG Community Arts Centre, Sevenoaks – January 21 Now in its 17th year, Chance to Dance has once again invited dancing schools, many of which are in the local area, to come together and perform on a professional sized stage. Chance to Dance staged its first performance at STAG Theatre in 1995 when 10 dancing schools were invited. Each year since then, c2d has grown with more schools participating (not only dancing schools, but school dance clubs) and more performances each year. While it is hoped to showcase a good standard of dance, the event also looks for the enthusiasm to perform and show a love of dance.

With musical accompaniment and pointless interjections from his loyal, pianist-come-manservant.

Phil Beer Playhouse Theatre, Whitstable – February 18 Phil Beer is the multi-instrumental half of the West Country’s award winning acoustic duo, Show of Hands. With a professional career of over 36 years, Phil has a great deal of material to draw on for his solo appearances, which are an eclectic mix of traditional tunes, covers of Bruce Springsteen or The Hollies, together with his own compositions and songs from his contemporaries. All are songs and music of memory and significance sung in the subtle and melodic Phil Beer style and interjected with musings and amusings to an almost personal audience. It is a treat of past and current favourites from one of the most popular musicians on the acoustic circuit.
