CHRISTMAS AT THE SPIEGELTENT Millenium Square, Bristol, 9th December
Feasting and festivities will be the order of the day at the unique ‘Spiegeltent’, a 1920’s style ‘big top’ transporting visitors back to a by-gone era of traditional Christmas cheer. The main feature of the day with see a demonstration
theatre, sponsored by ‘The Devilled Egg Kitchen Academy’, packed with local chefs whipping up delicious and affordable meals using a host range of seasonal ingredients, intended to be replicated in the home. The Love Food market will also allow FOODLOVERs to
order their festive bird, pick up some local cheeses, chocolates and even buy some smoked fish to round off the day. The little ones will be entertained in a homemade gingerbread house, where they can try their hand at making gingerbread decorations, carol singing or numerous other arts and crafts. PADSTOW CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL Padstow Harbour, Cornwall, 7th – 9th December
The Padstow Christmas Festival promises to offer a blend of family-friendly Christmas entertainment, live music and festive food, all set around the harbour of this picturesque Cornish fishing town. Running for three days, highlights include a number of gastronomic giants individually commanding a specially constructed kitchen to demonstrate their culinary wizardry in front of a live audience. A few of the chefs taking part will be Rick Stein and his son Jack, Mark Hix, Nathan Outlaw, Paul Ainsworth, Mitch Tonks and Mark Sergeant. Dedicated food forums will
return to tackle some of those festive culinary puzzles, while a traditional Christmas market on the quayside will be bustling with local producers and Cornish
crafts. Alongside ales, meats, jams and cheeses, restaurants including Fifteen Cornwall and The Seafood Restaurant will be tempting festival-goers with tasty treats and Christmas puddings. Santa will be in residence in his magical grotto at The Padstow Institute, while Friday evening’s lantern parade and firework display will bring light to the winter sky.
