DEVELOPMENT PIPELINE: VISITOR ATTRACTIONS

The sixth Legoland park worldwide

legoland malaysia Johor, Malaysia

n OPENING 2012

The finishing touches are being added to Legoland Malaysia, ahead of its opening on 15 September. Located in Nusajaya, Johor, it will feature more than 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions. It will be Merlin Entertainments’ sixth Legoland park worldwide − and its first in Asia. A themed hotel within the attrac- tion’s grounds will open in 2014. It is hoped that the park will attract more than 1.5 million people a year. The Malaysian site is the first of many new Legoland attractions planned for Asia. In September 2011, Merlin revealed that it had identified Asia Pacific as an important new development region for future Legoland developments. Work is underway on plans for a new site in Chuncheon City in South Korea.
