Daraban joins from Harrison Goddard Foote, patent and trademark attorneys in London, where she specialised in the prosecution of UK, European and international patent portfolios of universities, start-ups and blue chip companies in the life sciences sector. Rowe comes from the commercial real estate group of international firm Macfarlanes where he acted on property transactions for both large institutional property investors and smaller property companies in relation to office, retail and industrial premises. • It was announced at the end of July that Toto Wolff would become an executive director of Williams Grand Prix Holdings PLC with immediate effect, stepping up his role within the company from that of non-executive director. In his new role Wolff will assist and support Sir Frank Williams in his continuing position as team principal. As a shareholder in and executive director of Williams Grand Prix Holdings PLC, Wolff will work closely with Sir Frank Williams, each being a long term and committed shareholder of the

• Professor David Sines CBE, pro vice chancellor and executive dean: society & health, at Bucks New University, has been appointed to the Board of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust as an associate non-executive director. Sines, who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Trust with his many years of both clinical and academic healthcare experience, will play a key role in influencing the decisions of the Board. However he will not be a voting member, unlike non- executive directors who have been appointed directly by the Appointments Commission.
• Bucks New University has appointed Phil Renshaw as visiting professor and director of The Institute of Applied Leadership (INSTAL). Renshaw will be looking to continue INSTAL’s work developing original, customised and practical management solutions to drive forward leadership capability within organisations. Based at the University’s campus in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, he is also aiming to act as a thought-broker and change- agent working with public and commercial sector partners. The former international banker, corporate financier and finance director has worked with NatWest and EDS.
