The confirmation of support ‘in principle’ from the Government for WRAtH (Western Railway Access to Heathrow) – fast track main line access to Heathrow T5 onto the main line railway at Slough – is a major boost to the western corridor. Couple this with the current investment by Network Rail into Reading Station, the development of Crossrail to Maidenhead, electrification of the main line railway from Paddington and one can begin to see a clear path for transport in the region. Our invited keynote speakers at TVPF 2012: Professor Tony Travers, London School of Economics and Ruth Bagley, chief executive officer, Slough Borough Council, ensure that delegates will be aware of the current situation in respect of WRAtH and Heathrow.
