Dishes range from a delicious ciabatta steak sandwich through to a home-made Forbury burger with chunky chips and tomato salsa, or the Brixham catch of the day beer battered fish with all the accompaniments.
Served either in the bar or on the hotel’s smart outdoor terrace, the menu provides a welcome break from the day’s busy agenda and is available from 12.00pm-10.00pm Sunday to Thursday and 12.00pm-7.00pm Friday and Saturday.
Adding the perfect touch of elegance to proceedings at The Forbury is the afternoon tea menu, combining English tradition with the option of champagne for those who want to bring a little fizz to their afternoon.
Served on exquisite bone china and featuring a wide selection of fine teas and coffees, the choice includes a tasty assortment of finger sandwiches and home-made cakes, topped off by tempting scones, jam and clotted cream.
Served every day between 2pm and 5pm, The Forbury Hotel is the ideal place to take a break from an afternoon’s shopping in the nearby Oracle centre.
Making the most of Reading’s numerous attractions, special packages have also been designed for those theatre and concert goers who want to make a night of it. A flexible approach to dining means guests can enjoy an early dinner for two before heading off to the theatre.
The Forbury Hotel team has joined forces with The Hexagon theatre to offer a complete package which includes theatre tickets, dinner in Cerise and an overnight stay with a full English breakfast for just £225 for two people. The current line-up includes musician Jools Holland in November, and comedians Jimmy Carr and Milton Jones early in the New Year.
Meanwhile, a separate private party package, entitled Recharge, gives guests exclusive use of the hotel’s very own 30-seater cinema, cocktails in the bar, dinner in Cerise and an overnight stay – ideal for those looking to celebrate a special occasion in style.
