British couples continue to untie the knot as divorce numbers increase
Divorcing couples to use 'divorce app' during separations
Ministers want divorcing couples to use the web-based application to help deal amicably with acrimonious separa- tions.
Guidance would be given on a range of issues including advice on how to prevent fighting in front of children, orga- nizing child support payments and how to cope with new partners.
It is part of a £14m scheme run by the Department of Work and Pensions to support separating couples. Help will also be offered on other is- sues including help for wives “dumped” in favour of a younger woman, those wanting to save their relationship and those concerned with how to properly interact with stepchildren.
The funding will help pay for the down- loadable app, also known as a “widget”, so divorcing parents can use it on their computers and mobile phones, the Daily Mail reported..

Promiscuity, separation and divorce are at 'epidemic' proportions, a senior Church of England bishop has warned as he called for Britain to use the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee as an opportunity to reflect and reassess values. The Rt Rev Richard Chartres, Bishop of London, writing in a Bible Society pamphlet about the origins of the word jubilee, said Britain was now an 'enor- mously different' society compared to 1952 - the year of the Queen’s accession to the throne - and in 'so many ways' a better place to live. She said the drop in divorce up to 2010 was a direct result of the credit crunch.
‘It has been on the decrease slightly for the last few years but that’s more of an economic thing. People can’t afford to get divorced. It costs a lot of money to get divorced.
