his latest divorce among the stars, does illus- trate that two people who have very different beliefs can often split if they are not ready to
explore what different beliefs can bring to them. Katie obviously believed that Tom Cruise’s firm belief in Scientology was neither going to benefit her or her child anymore.
It seems that two people from very different backgrounds in terms of their spiritual beliefs can have an adverse affect on a relationship. However, it can actually add richness to a rela- tionship if said party (in this case Katie) could see what it could add to their relationship versus what it doesn’t. Disagreements of this kind will be usually
stepping on values, belief systems and the perception that there are more drawbacks than benefits to any one situation. In this case Katie Holmes must have perceived this to be true, and so decided to leave
