an catches this horror moment for Chris Holder after his d off and he was dumped hard onto the Gorican track…
CHRIS CRASH
AUSTRALIAN champion Chris Holder was lucky to take his place in the Croatian SGP after being flung over his
handlebars in an horrific crash at Poole last Wednesday.
Everyone in the Holder
Wimborne Road pits instantly feared a broken collar-bone – rib and elbow damage was the somewhat fortunate outcome. But his luck ran out in Heat 14 at Gorican, when sparks flew as his primary chain jumped off and he was dumped hard on the ribs again.
An ambulance rushed on to the shale to attend to the 24-year-old. After struggling for breath and taking a rest up against the fence, he was helped to his feet by concerned compatriot Jason Crump. Holder walked gingerly back to the pits and was advised by the medical team to sit out Heat 20. With six points to his name, a win would have put him into the semi- finals.
But the Poole skipper
maturely decided to live to fight another day and called it a night. With five rounds left, Holder is 13 points behind leader Hancock and could still reel his Piraterna team-mate in. Another crash in Heat 20 and it could have been a different story...
