We all need time to energize, to applaud all that we are and to alleviate demands others place on us. As women, especially, we give and give which often results in depletion. You need to make time for you. You regularly deserve the opportunity to go within, to praise your source and to receive guidance. How else can you face daily challenges? How else can you be the best at being you? How else can you serve if you don’t first serve yourself?

am me there. I am stress-free. I am totally connected to source, which I call Divine Spirit. I listen to The Vortex by Esther & Jerry Hicks and feel alive. I am One with my source. I feel energized, blessed and grateful. I feel at peace and balanced during my visit.

There are days – many of them, in fact – where the overwhelming demands of daily living can play havoc on being focused, cen- tered and balanced. Even though I no longer have the responsibility of raising children and as a solo- entrepreneur, I create my own schedule, life still has a way of taking me off track, out of control and causing stress. Whether it is meeting deadlines, caring for an older parent or keeping up with what’s going on in the world, I’m not always ‘connected’ the way I want to be! At least I have my ‘cave’ where I can quietly return to a peaceful state.

It wasn’t until I got much older (you may recall my last article mentioned my 50th high school reunion) that I came to realize the value and necessity of self-care. As a younger woman, my life was all about kids, homework, car- pools, husband, social life, com- munity, etc. I didn’t even know about meditation, Source, inside work or mindfulness. I did know about laundry, PTA, grocery shop- ping, meal preparation, thank you notes and everything else that made me appear perfect as a mom and wife. Even if I did drown with it all, would anyone really notice?

I don’t know where you are in your stage of life. I don’t know the level of responsibilities you have. I don’t know the demands that regularly bombard you. Here’s what I do know. You have to take time to connect with the core of you. That’s where the peace lies. That’s where the answers dwell. That’s where you can be the person you were meant to be. Maybe you don’t have the space or resources to have a room such as I described. Maybe you

can only carve out a corner of a bedroom. Whatever it is for you, make it your burning desire to get in touch with beautiful you. Make a commitment to bring even a half hour of peace into your day. Too much to do in the early morning? Too much to accomplish after dinner? Maybe, the time before retiring is best for you. Just read something spiritual, write thoughts in a beautiful journal and acknowledge how wonderful life is and how much you appreciate each day. Let your light shine. Be wise enough to know that you deserve the best of all possibili- ties. You are a gift from Divine Spirit. You are divine. I know it. Your God knows it. The question is – do you?
