of Going Inside
Several years ago, I had the great fortune of visiting a friend who had completed a meditation room in her home. Imagine that? Her own quiet space – separated from the busyness of life and its intrusions. When I returned home late that afternoon, I couldn’t get the beauty, sound and solitude of my friend’s room out of my head. It was one of those thoughts – I knew I wanted what she had! While we have a finished base- ment which was built primarily for my husband and my offices, at the time there was also a section that was separate for storage and some unused space. I decided to call our handyman.
What resulted is an absolutely wonderful inside room – no win- dows – no outside sounds and a place created solely for me. The walls are covered completely in a forest mural. The room’s aro- matic smell comes from a variety

of candles. It has a cascading fountain and a steamer which when plugged in – emits misty multi-lighted steam. I’ve had my meditation room for 10+ years!
