The British Dressage Young Rider, Junior and Pony teams have been confirmed for this month’s FEI European Dressage Championships. The 2012 Young Rider and Junior event will be held from July 8 – 15 at the prestigious Dressur Akademie Silvia Ikle in Berne, Switzerland and is the first time in 18 years that Switzerland has hosted the Championships. The Pony Team travel to the beautiful venue of Fontainebleau in France for their European Championships from July 17 – 22. Riders from our region looking forward to the Championships include:- Young Rider Team – Eilidh Grant (18) from Aberdeen with Lorraine Grant’s 16yo mare Comanche Crumble. Junior Team – Abigail Slater (17) from Leyland in Lancashire with Richard Heley’s 14yo gelding Lou Wega. Abigail is currently based with Judy Harvey. Junior Team – Jessica Knapton (17) from Hull with her own 14yo Remarkable. Pony Team – Maisie Scruton (15) from Hull with her own 11yo Rembrandt DDH. Pony Team – Erin Williams (14) from Barlow in Derbyshire with Clare Williams’ 8yo Dynasty.
