#81 lARRy jACKSoN HOMETOWN: Oakville, Ontario // BIRTHDATE: May 12, 1974
SPONSORS/MAKE: B&B Decals / Speedy Muffler / Gary Jackson Trucking / Trailers by Jim Bray / Montgomery Marketing – Dodge Challenger SRT
NOTABLE: A regular open-wheeled Modified and Late Model driver on the Ontario short track scene, Jackson also races south of the border on the NASCAR Modified tour. The NCATS rookie will run selected events in Ontario and Quebec this year.
QUOTABLE: “This will be something different for us and a change for our crew. We’ve never run a road course be- fore, so we will be trying to teach this old dog a few new tricks. The goal is to keep the wheels on the car, educate ourselves, and see if we have what it takes to run with these guys.”
#84 j.R. fiTZPATRiCK HOMETOWN: Ayr, Ontario // BIRTHDATE: May 9, 1988
SPONSORS/MAKE: Equipment Express / Cambridge Rigging / Ayr Equipment International – Chevrolet Impala SS
NOTABLE: Even though the 2006 CASCAR Series champion will be splitting his time between the NASCAR Camping World Truck and the Canadian Tire Series, J.R. Fitzpatrick has made it clear that his primary goal this year is to earn his first NCATS title. Bringing longtime Fitz- patrick racing teammate Don Thomson Jr. on board as his new crew chief, J.R. hopes to build on his record of three top-five and 10 top- ten results scored in 2011 to claim his debut NASCAR championship.
QUOTABLE: “We took a big step in getting the right people in place and we’ll have a fulltime crew going to every race this year. We’ve put more effort into this year than ever before. We’ve got a brand new car and two new motors for each of the oval and road course cars. This is our championship year, we’ll definitely be the ones to beat.”
#90 MARTiN Roy HOMETOWN: Napierville, Quebec // BIRTHDATE: February 1, 1974
SPONSORS/MAKE: Gamache / Veloce / Lagace Transport / Raytech Welding / Arcopel / PBE Avocats / Globocam / Trahan Inc. / CanalPubTV / PM Caravans / Pro Truck Magazine – Dodge Avenger
NOTABLE: Roy only competed in four events last year, scoring a season-best 13th on his ‘home track’ at Trois Riv- ieres, but plans to run the full schedule in 2012. A 25 year veteran of stock car racing, both on dirt and asphalt, Roy will also prepare the #07 mount for Isabelle Tremblay.
QUOTABLE: “I’m very comfortable on the ovals, but the road courses are something new for me. I think we are ca- pable of running top-fives on the ovals, and perhaps top- tens on the road circuits. I hope to do well again in Trois-Rivieres, it’s my home track and I have a lot of family and friends there to cheer me on.”
