He has a new oval track car for this year and plans to enter all of the eastern Canada events. Recently obtained his NASCAR Nationwide li- cense following a race at Bristol in a K&N Series event.

NOTABLE: Whissell will run just seven events this year, competing in the five road course races and adding the two ovals that are part of the series’ western swing. In six starts in 2011, the Calgary resi- dent earned a season best 12th place result on the Mosport road course. For 2012, Whissell has added veteran crew chief Dave Lynch to the staff of the #44 SMS team.
QUOTABLE: “We struggled with mechanical reliability last year but we’re much better prepared this season. We’ve done some pre- season testing and that has made a big difference in our knowledge of the car. We will be ready to go when we hit the track and I’m hoping for consistent top-ten finishes at every event we run.”

NOTABLE: The 2011 Rookie of the Year returned to his road racing roots early in 2012, competing, and finishing second in his class, in the 12 Hours of Sebring endurance contest. Dumoulin will build on his 2011 record of two top-five results (4th-ICAR Mirabel/5th - GP3R) in just eight starts as he looks to run the full 2012 campaign and make a run for the title. This year, the #47 Dodge will be pre- pared by the Steckly Racing crew.
QUOTABLE: “I’m comfortable on the road courses, but I have a lot to learn on the ovals. With Scott (Steckly) preparing the car, I know that I am going to learn tremendously this year. If I can race smart and finish every race, I think we will be in good shape for a chance at a win this year.”
