Rising Demand Shweta Jain, Director, Ser- vices, Cushman & Wakefield states, “The annual World Wealth Report of Merrill Lynch Wealth management and Capgemini has revealed that the number of millionaires in India specially in Delhi/NCR has surged to a record high of 1.53 lakh in 2010, making the country’s high net worth individual population the 12th largest across the globe. In coming years, it is estimated

that the figures have climbed up by another three per cent.” “A survey has also revealed that the Indian millionaires are no longer shying away from luxury collectibles. This is a niche market that ensures bigger sales figures. While low to middle income groups still continue to be one of the largest marketed segments, developers are not missing out on the fact that there are more yuppie Indians today than ever before with better pay pack- ages and increased spending limits with quicker access to easy home loans; more mil- lionaires and billionaires than ever before and which is grow- ing.”


Vikash Gupta, Director, Earth Infrastructure, which has luxury projects in Delhi, Moti Nagar, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurgaon-Sohna Road and Dwarka Expressway says, “India today has a rapidly


growing list of millionaires and these well-heeled, well- travelled millionaires today are demanding homes that are a reflection of their success and their global tastes. The fact that new, high-end residential projects are being announced across the length and breadth of India, are a sign that the country’s appetite for luxury homes is growing.”

An ideal high-end luxury home project on offer in the National Capital Region promises to be central to the city and yet insu- lates the home-owner from the stress of urban life. “Location is a pre-requisite consideration for defining a luxury project. Price alone does not distin- guish the status and there are many other factors that one must take into account while defining a luxury home,” says Gupta. And even where it is
