April 15 Kent’s All Ford Show Aylesford Priory, Nr. Maidstone


This new event, including an auto jumble, is an opportunity for any Ford owner or enthusiast to meet and display their original and restored vehicle. Public admission: £2.50 per person, children under 16: free, 10am-4pm.


April 29 Family Fun Teston Bridge Country Park, Maidstone


Join the first open day at Teston Bridge Country Park, where you will get the chance to meet site staff. Take part in the free activities, including geocaching (refundable deposit of £30 required to hire handsets), scavenger hunts to win a small prize, face painting and site tours.

May 5-7 May Celebrations Hever Castle, Edenbridge


Come and welcome in the spring with traditional folk and Tudor dancing set against the glorious backdrop of the historic castle. Join costumed dancers as they


circle the maypole with brightly coloured ribbons, and morris men adorned with bells perform their uniquely English folk dance to a lively medley of traditional tunes. Then step into the award-winning gardens to see the delicate blossom on the fruit trees.


May 5-7 The Sweeps Festival, Rochester


It takes a special kind of event to last more than a quarter of a century. Medway's Sweeps Festival, with its incredible selection of musical entertainment, an ever-expanding range of activities and worldwide popularity, goes from strength to strength each year.


May 12 Ocelot 50 Historic Dockyard, Chatham


HM Submarine Ocelot was the last warship built for the Royal Navy at Chatham. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of her launch in 1962 a special Submariners’ Day will be held at The Historic Dockyard. There will be a service in the Royal Dockyard Church followed by a parade led by the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines CTCRM, Lympstone. All submariners (past and present), together with ex- Chatham Dockyard workers involved with the construction or refit of submarines, are invited to enjoy free admission to The Historic Dockyard for the day with special discounted tickets available for accompanying family and friends.
