On Thursday, April 12 (2-3:30 p.m. EDT), Christine Thalwitz, the director of communications and research for the ACAC Fitness & Wellness Centers, based in Charlottesville, Virginia, will present Marketing and Selling to Older Adults. Participants will:


• Learn actionable tactics for reaching baby- boomer and senior populations;


• Differentiate between the kinds of marketing messages that will be most effective and those that will fall flat;


• Discuss the kind of service that attracts and retains baby boomers and seniors;


• Identify myths and stereotypes that should be avoided at all costs;

• Discover the keys to creating a boomer/senior- friendly club and culture.


Thalwitz earned bachelor’s and medical technology degrees from the University of Virginia, and, subsequently, pursued a career as a fitness instructor and educator. She’s earned certifications from ACE, AEA, AFAA, NASM, and Stott Pilates. She’s also served as a continuing-education provider for ACE and AFAA, as well as a Body Pump and Body Step assessor for Les Mills International. In her current position, Thalwitz provides ACAC with strategic leadership with respect to brand identity, public relations, outreach, and media coverage, and also oversees the development of organization-wide tools. —|
