We are sad to announce the passing of Marvin Halladay. Marvin passed away on December 10, 2011 after a courageous battle with pan- creatic cancer. Marvin had been an active member of the OTRA board in the past and he will be greatly missed on the rides, around the campfire and in the OTRA Booth.

Wagner Leads Canada’s Outdoor Shows
Canada’s Outdoor Shows Limited Partnership, the parent company of Cana- da’s Outdoor Farm Show and Canada’s Outdoor Equine Expo, is very pleased to announce the appointment of Douglas Wagner as President effec- tive January 1, 2012. Mr. Wagner assumes this position from Lorie Jocius who will now act as Vice-President.
“Doug and my late husband, Ginty, created Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show almost two decades ago,” says Lorie Jocius. “With our merger with Glacier Media Inc. this past fall, it is a logical time to transfer the reins to Doug’s most capable hands.”
Doug Wagner, a 1974 graduate of the Ontario Agricultural College, started as a supervisor in the Youth Extension arm of the Ontario Ministry of Agri- culture and Food before becoming Executive Director of Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association and Secretary Manager of the Ontario Seed Growers’ Association.
He also worked with the Ontario Plowmen’s Association to help co-ordi- nate 10 International Plowing Matches from 1983 to 1992 before joining Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show in 1993. He has been an active alumnus of the University of Guelph and Ontario 4-H. Last year, Doug became President of the Farm Show Council, headquartered in Ohio, that represents 28 farm shows across North America, as well as liaising with agricultural trade shows in Europe.
“We realized during our visit to Agritechnica in Germany this fall that Canada’s Outdoor Shows now has a strong international reputation for show- casing Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT),” says Wagner. “I hope to continue our tradition of demonstrating the newest and brightest ideas impacting the Canadian agricultural and equine industries through education- al and interactive venues like Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show and Canada’s Outdoor Equine Expo.”
