Sport scholarship We invite children to apply for Sports Scholarship in Year 6.

External candidates will sit exams in Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning. All candidates will be able to demonstrate their ability at their chosen sport and perform a series of tasks that show their sporting potential.

There is an expectation that sports scholars will play a full part in the sporting life of the school. Music

At the Prep there is a strong tradition of music. The school receives accolades not only for individual success but for concerts, recitals and Choral Performances both at school and in the county. The school has a large spacious music school, where instrumental lessons are taught, and two separate music rooms for class music lessons.

With the wide range of instruments on offer every child has the opportunity to find something that they can enjoy, and the standard, that so many achieve, is testimony to the dedication of pupils and staff. We currently have pupils who are members of the National Children’s Choir and National Children’s Orchestra.

Starting in the classroom, music is an essential part of the school, supporting many aspects of children’s general development – academic, social, cultural, spiritual and emotional. The philosophy that ‘every child is musical’ pervades teaching in the school. A number of academic staff take part in the Choir, and play with various bands in musical productions, providing positive role models for the children and giving a real sense of music bringing everyone together.
