FOSTER VS FARRELL


Both Lord Norman Foster and Sir Terry Farrell agree that Britain’s aged infrastructure is inadequate to serve the growing population and an evolving global economy. They are both clear that it is in dire need of updating but that is, I’m afraid,where the agreement ends. For Foster, the answer lies in a £50billion

Farrell however, proposes that a constellation hub linking five existing airports by high-speed rail is the answer to achieving the upgrade desperately needed.While LondonMayor Boris Johnson seems to favour Foster’s floating airport, Farrell – theMayor’s design advisor - has berated the idea, calling it ‘unsustainable’ and ‘expensive’. 
