OCEAN WAVES...
Dubai's many watersports offer ideal team- building activities. Leisurely activities include fishing, sailing and snorkelling, while for action-packed challenges, jetskiing, water- skiing and windsurfing activities are available. A popular option for corporate events is
chartering a yacht and sailing along the coastline, taking in the many sights of the city, as well as offshore islands including the Palm Jumeirah and The World. Many DMCs can arrange day charters that are fully crewed and catered for. A dhow cruise and dinner party on Dubai Creek is another option available to plan- ners. Dhows can be hired exclusively for an evening, cruising up and down the creek and taking in sights along the way such as Deira, Bur Dubai, Dubai Festival City and the Ras Al Khor wetlands area. Most dhows can accommodate up to 125 guests.
OLD AND NEW DUBAI... Another popular option for visiting corpo- rate groups is a city tour. Dubai's reputation as an ultra-modern metropolis lies juxta- posed against a rich heritage, personified by the Creek area with its ancient abras and meandering alleyways.
Many DMCs can arrange day tours taking
in views of the Creek, archaeological digs in Al Qusais, Al Sufouh and Jumeirah, Sheikh Saeed's House – dating from the 1800s and the Bastakiya area, which houses Al Fahidi Fort and many historic buildings. Other highlights of Old Dubai include the Spice Souk, Dubai Museum, the Heritage and Diving Village and Bani Yas Square. An ideal way to end the tour is to visit New Dubai, taking in the Down- town area, Sheikh Zayed Road, The Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina.

DUNE AND DUSTED... Taking to the dunes in a 4x4 driven by a local guide can often prove one of the most adventurous activities corporate groups can experience on their visit to Dubai. Sailing up and over the undulating dunes can prove a thrilling experience, although it is not always recommended for the faint hearted. Thankfully, highly professional drivers are employed by the city's most reputable DMCs. Many operators will also offer activities including sand boarding down some of the bigger dunes in a specially designated area. Most tours culminate with a barbeque which can be enjoyed at one of the many desert camps outside Dubai. In addition to dinner and refreshments, guests are usually treated to entertainment, including Arabic music and belly dancing displays.
