AQUAVENTURE


Aquaventure is Dubai's newest waterpark and is a key attraction of Atlantis, The Palm. At the heart of Aquaventure is the Ziggurat, an immense monument over 30 metres tall that launches the bold and brave down the near vertical waterslide Leap of Faith, then through a shark-filled lagoon. Other highlights include lazy river rides, kids' water activity areas and a magnificent 700- metre beach, allowing guests to combine a day at the waterpark with a dip in the ocean. Another highlight of a visit to Atlantis, The Palm is Dolphin Bay. The four-and- a-half hectare location features three lagoons and is home to Atlantis' group of captive dolphins. Visitors can get up close with the creatures as part of Atlantis' Dolphin Adventure package, swimming among them in the lagoon and enjoying a belly ride back to shore.

DOWNTOWN DUBAI Home to the world's tallest tower and one of the world's largest shopping centres, Downtown Dubai (sometimes referred to as 'Old Town') is one of Dubai's top tourist and leisure attractions. The prom- enade linking The Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa features a multitude of restaurants and cafŽs and is a hugely popular location among locals on weekends. The 30-acre lake that is the centrepiece of the development also houses the world's largest dancing fountain. The Dubai Fountain features more than 6,600 lights and 25 colour projectors, entertaining visitors with a range of dazzling performances set to popular Arabic and Western tunes. Performances are scheduled every 30 minutes with the first two shows at 1pm and 1:30pm daily and thereafter from 7pm to 11pm. There's also Souk Al Bahar Ð an Arabesque shopping mall


and entertainment destination located on the Old Town Island. It boasts more than 100 shops in an eclectic retail mix that includes 22 restaurants, cafŽs and lounges framing the souk's extensive waterfront promenade. Souk Al Bahar ('market of the sailor') derives its name from both its traditional souk architecture of natural stone corridors, high archways and subdued lighting and its unique location on an island in the Burj lake. The cultural theme flows throughout the mall, with boutique shops showcasing Arabian heritage through a mix of authentic handicrafts, fashionwear, perfumes, carpets and furnishings. Dining at the Souk Al Bahar is a highlight, where visitors will find an international mix of causal to fine dining restaurants and cafŽs lining the waterfront promenade and overlooking the Burj Khalifa tower, the tallest building in the world.
