Millennium Resort – Mussanah The brand new Millennium Resort Mussanah is located one-hour north of Muscat on the Batinah Coast between Barka and Sohar. It is being pitched as a business and meetings resort, located 45 minutes from Muscat International Airport and featuring 234 rooms, 74 apartments and one and two-bedroom duplex units. The property also boasts 18 suites with views of the 54-berth private marina Ð dubbed the "Monte Carlo of the Arabian Gulf" by resort staff. Meeting facilities include a main ballroom that can be split into two smaller rooms, three break-out or meeting rooms and a hall area for meet and greet. The property prides itself on its smart- home automation system, which controls lights and AV. Voiceover recording and video- conferencing facilities are also available. Millennium Resort Mussanah is still in the soft-opening phase but by 2012, leisure facilities will include a swimming pool, health club, gym, spa, kids club, crazy golf, tennis courts, beach volleyball and soccer. Al Sawadi is close to the property, which is famous as the gateway to diving out at the Daymaniyat Islands.
To date, the property has played host to events such as the 2011 AGM of the British Guild of Travel Writers, the Asian Beach Games, FIFA Asian Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifications, as well as the first TEDx Mus- cat IT conference and the Brand Oman Youth Summit Conference.

Royal Opera House Muscat The newly built state-of-the-art Royal Opera House Muscat (ROH Muscat) opened on October 14, 2011. Established by a Royal Decree, ROH Muscat is a multi-disciplinary arts and culture centre pioneered and sup- ported by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. ROH Muscat's building was designed
by the international destination design firm WATG and reflects a fusion of Omani tradition and modern architecture.
