OEF Provides Complimentary Memberships to Registered Charities
The OEF recognizes the many financial burdens that therapeutic riding facilities and equine res- cue/adoption organiza- tions face in their day to day operations. The pro- grams that they offer are vital components to the horse industry, but the cost of marketing and promot- ing these programs is expensive and a luxury that many can not afford. In an effort to help promote these programs in Ontario, the OEF is pleased to provide complimentary Council memberships to all thera- peutic riding facilities and rescue/adoption facilities that have registered charity status.
Therapeutic Riding Facilities will be granted a complimentary Horse Facilities Council (HFC) Membership. The HFC provides support and mar- keting opportunities to commercial horse facilities that provide services such as riding lessons, boarding, therapeutic programs, sales, etc. All Horse Facili- ties Council Members must identify a representative who is a current individual OEF adult member.

• Listing & hot link on OEF website
• Exclusive opportunity to purchase advertising space in the Ontario Horse Direc- tory
• Exclusive opportunity to purchase advertising space in OEF newsletter, WHOA!
• Distribute media releases and articles through the OEF
trail development initiatives such as creating new equestrian trails, upgrading existing trails, building bridges, staging areas, trail improvement for the safety of horse and rider, etc. are also eligi- ble. The funding program is designed to match funds dollar for dollar and applicants must pro- vide proof of matching funds for their program. The OEF Recre- ation Council has the right to cap funds at their discretion.

• Display promotional liter- ature with the OEF special events exhibit (including Can-Am and the RAWF) • The opportunity to join the OEF Partner Program • Referrals from the OEF Office
• The opportunity to attend meetings to network with other equine businesses, learn from marketing pro- fessionals, discuss perti- nent topics, etc.
• Signage to post at your facility and on your web- site
The OEF will only promote facilities that have demonstrated a commit- ment to safety, education and animal welfare. To ensure that your facility values safe procedures, members must complete the Site Accreditation pro- cess that includes complet- ing an Accreditation and Safety Standards checklist, and undergoing a Site Visit by an OEF representative. Once your facility has completed the Accredita- tion requirements, you will receive an OEF Horse Facilities Council sign to post on your property that will signify to the commu- nity that the facility meets OEF standards.
Equine Rescue/Adop- tion Organizations will be offered a complimentary Affiliate Membership. The Affiliate Membership pro- vides support and market- ing opportunities to equine related groups and/or orga- nizations in Ontario includ- ing local riding clubs, trail development groups, res- cue/adoption organizations, etc. excluding provincial breed and discipline associ- ations. All Affiliate Mem- bers must identify a repre- sentative who is a current individual adult member. All Affiliate Members are eligible to apply for the OEF Recreation Funding program. The funding is intended for educational programs that could include seminars, guest speakers, safety courses, and the health and welfare of the horse. In addition,
Ontario Equestrian Federation Model Member Award
The OEF is very pleased to announce a new and exciting award that will recognize outstanding individu- als in the equestrian community, whether in sport, leisure, business or otherwise. The OEF Model Member Award will be bestowed on those that exemplify superi- or acts of good sportsmanship, benevolence, comrade- ship, etc. within the horse industry, regardless of disci- pline.
All current OEF Members are eligible to make nominations and/or receive an OEF Model Member Award with the exception of OEF Staff, Board of Direc- tors and immediate family members of Staff and Direc- tors.
