Junction 6 deal completed A
gas and plumbing fittings supplier has moved to a new
warehouse in Witton, doubling the size of its operation. The firm is BES Ltd, which has
moved to a 77,317 sq ft unit at Junction 6 Industrial Park, in Electric Avenue. The company has been in
business for more than 30 years and supplies a wide range of plumbing, gas, central heating and air conditioning components. The new warehouse will house a range of more than 15,000 different products.

The deal – one of the largest warehouse lettings in the West Midlands so far this year – was arranged by city property consultancies Lambert Smith Hampton and Cushman & Wakefield. Junction 6 is owned by the M&G Property Portfolio and is managed by Prudential Property Investment Managers (Pruprim). Junction 6 Industrial Park has more than 377,000 sq ft of space in its 12 units. Other tenants include Iron Mountain (UK), Manganese Bronze Property Holdings, Hills Number-plates, Nobel Automotive (UK) and Mayall and Co (Mayflex). Cushman & Wakefield partner David Binks, who advised Pruprim on the letting, said: “We are delighted
that BES has chosen to remain on the Junction 6 Industrial Park. Our clients are working hard with their existing tenants in these difficult economic times to assist them in meeting their business needs. The BES decision is a real vote of confidence in the estate and its location.” Pruprim investment manager Simon Welch said:
“This is a significant letting in the Birmingham market and we are pleased that we have been able to assist BES in their growth plans. The letting was concluded following a substantial refurbishment of Unit 12. We have an on-going refurbishment programme of other units on the estate.”
Science Park, Aston, on 25 October will outline business prospects available locally and nationally for the construction sector. Work includes extensive changes
to the stadia, athletes village and media buildings to convert to long- term ‘legacy’ use; dismantling and relocation of four venues on the Olympic Park and construction of housing units. The construction of new office blocks and additional landscaping as well as the £16 billion Crossrail are also opportunities with which construction companies can become involved.

Contracts top £13m for Shaylor
West Midlands-based construction company Shaylor has won more than £13m in new contracts. The wins include two new depots for Western Power

at Telford and Grantham, three new-build construction projects in the region , a private nursery, a MyPlace Youth facility and a courtyard extension at King Edwards VI High School for Girls, Edgbaston, Birmingham where Shaylor is currently on site with a £7.2m new performing arts centre.
Shaylor Interiors has also won four new projects, two
to refurbish student accommodation at Warwick University, a refurbishment of student accommodation at Mansion Brook in Birmingham and an office refurbishment in Bristol. Shaylor chief executive Stephen Shaylor said: “These
contract wins include some notable projects and blue chip clients that reflect our commitment to providing added value with quality of service and delivery at its core.”
