My name is Leanne Shorrock and along with my friend Kirsty Sharples we ran the London Marathon on 17th April 2011. We ran the marathon in aid of Lupus (SLE) which is an autoimmune disease that can affect virtually any system in the body. It is a lifelong condition where the body attacks its own cells and tissues, causing inflammation, pain, organ damage and death. This is a cause close to our hearts as my mother Brenda Shorrock died of this condition in January 2007 at the age of 48 years. We ran in her memory and raised a massive £5,259.00 in sponsor money. Please will you publish this article as I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all our friends and family who helped us raise
this money. We held a charity night, Lupus Awareness coffee morning, thirteen of our family and friends took part in a gruelling twenty six mile sponsored walk, local schools have held non - uniform days and churches have donated. If anyone would like to contribute to our efforts I can be contacted via email -

It’s only a light !
The Policeman pulled over a car and strolled up to the drivers
window:
"Excuse me sir, but do you know that you're driving without a rear light?" The driver jumped out and ran to the rear of his car and let out a whimpering groan. The driver seemed so genuinely distressed that the policeman took a sympathetic view: "Don't take it so hard, it's not all that serious an offence..." "Isn't it" the driver cried, "Where's gone?"

Bobby’s Blog Friendly advice from your local Bobby on the Beat PC 2559 Andrew Sarchet Great Harwood police Station: 01254 353334 Crime stoppers 0800 555 111 Insecure Vehicles Opportunist thieves often walk along streets trying door handles on vehicles attempting to find those which have been left unlocked. Those that are insecure are entered and items of value are stolen from within. Recently two vehicles had accidentally been left unlocked overnight on Mill Lane, Great Harwood, resulting in a Sat Nav being stolen.
Please ensure your vehicles are fully locked and
that any items of value are not left inside them or on view. Burglaries Unfortunately burglaries are still occurring in the Great Harwood area, namely Lyndon House, Meadow St and St Huberts Road. Some properties have had access gained through insecure windows and doors. On others they have forced open doors and windows which are in a poor state of repair. Even though the weather has been very warm over the past weeks, we strongly advise that all doors and windows are securely locked. We also recommend those doors and windows that are potentially vulnerable, or in a poor condition, that they be replaced or re-enforced. We also ask that
residents remain vigilant and report any
suspicious person or vehicle to the police. Andrew Sarchet Community Beat Manager Great Harwood neighbourhood policing team. Email:

Coincidence ? I think not ! It is believed that Shakespeare was 46 around the time that the King James Version of the Bible was written. In Psalms 46, the 46th word from the first word is shake and the 46th word from the last word is spear.
On 15 April 1912 the SS Titanic sunk on her maiden voyage and over 1,500 people died. Fourteen years earlier a novel was published by Morgan Robertson which seemed to foretell the disaster. The book described a ship the same size as the Titanic which crashes into an iceberg on its maiden voyage on a misty April night. The name of Robertson's fictional ship was the Titan.
Spooky!!!!!!!
