HARBOUR CITY HIGHLIGHTS Activate Your Sense of Adventure in Outdoor Nanaimo

Standing 45 m (150 ft) on a bridge deck above the Nanaimo River with a giant elastic band strapped around your ankles, adrenalin and exhilaration course through your veins in equal measure. Before you can think twice, you’re catapulted out into open air and sailing into the thrill of a lifetime: WildPlay Nanaimo was the first bungee park to open on the North American continent. And there’s more at WildPlay: Monkido treetop aerial adventure courses, the Canyon Zip along the Nanaimo River, and the G-force-defying King Swing.

Experienced rock climbers with their own gear will find plenty of challenges along the steep slopes of the Nanaimo River climbing area. There are several bolted routes at the Boar’s Hole and Lower Deck, some rising to 14 m (46 ft) along the craggy face of the river canyon.

Kayaking adventure is as close as Nanaimo’s inner harbour, where rvsnowbirds.com
