New job for Eleanor


The Welsh home of horseracing is showing its commitment to growing the business with the appointment of a new business development manager. Eleanor Ryan has joined


from Hays Recruitment, having previously managed the Welsh Rugby Union Supporters’ Club, as well as working in sponsorship at the Millennium Stadium. The appointment comes as


horseracing is thrust further into the spotlight, with Royal Ascot just around the corner and competition ramping up in the British Champions Series. Eleanor said: “I’m thrilled to


be joining the team at Chepstow Racecourse, which has a fantastic reputation and is a well-established brand in the South Wales market. I’m looking forward to combining my business development skills with my knowledge of the sports and hospitality industries.”


£100m 10-year deal creates 30 new jobs


Newport-based independent materials handling specialist Rushlift has secured reportedly the UK’s single largest supply level agreement with the building distribution division of international construction materials group Saint-Gobain. The exclusive 10-year deal will see Rushlift


supply the group with a variety of materials handling equipment and covers the management and maintenance of over 2,000 forklifts across a variety of UK manufacturing, retail and merchant sites. These include the company’s Jewson, JP Corry and Gibbs and Dandy builders’ merchants chains. The scale of the agreement, more than two


years in the making and worth around £100m over the next 10 years, has prompted Rushlift to recruit 30 additional engineering, account management and administrative personnel, with more appointments expected to follow. Rushlift chairman Peter Cosgrove said the


contract has only been made possible thanks to the efforts of Rushlift’s national accounts, technical and service teams, and thanks to detailed negotiations with key suppliers. Peter said: “A great deal of credit has to go
