From the opening scene of waking up in the Aperture Science facility to the final cinematic as the credits roll, Portal 2 doesn’t let up in it’s quest to challenge, delight and entertain you. With a fleshed out story, deeper characters, a genuinely hilarious script and an array of very taxing puzzles based around ‘diabolical science’, the game never fails to immerse the player. Stephen Merchant steals the show as your robotic orb guide Wheatley, delivering every line of dialogue with expert comedy timing, although every other voice in the game is also hilarious. This game won’t reach the sales of other mainstream titles due to the non-voilent, non-competitive content but this is a shame as you are unlikely to play a better game this year. Outstanding. GL

With brand new facial animation technology, LA Noire wows the player by combining unparalleled performances from well-known actors, a stunningly realised 1947 Hollywood, a gripping detective story and intense interrogation scenes to create a memorable and enjoyable gaming experience. Players of the Grand Theft Auto series will feel right at home with the driving and combat areas of the game, however the game feels fresh, exciting and intense during the interrogation scenes. Boasting a flawless score, superb acting, fantastic graphics and solid gameplay, LA Noire impresses but also leaves you wondering what will be possible in future games using the pioneering technology shown here. I personally cannot wait to see how this technology will be used next, meanwhile, enjoy this fantastic slice of gaming Noire. GL
