Excitement NHRS11—A "One-Stop Shop"
The 19th Annual New Home & Remodeling Show (NHRS) is “Building excitement!” for home shopping consumers June 11 and 12 at Reliant Center. GHBA’s premier public event of the year features large volume home builders, custom builders and remodeling professionals—all under one roof!
NHRS is a “one-stop shop” for home buyers, as well as homeowners ready to remodel, redecorate, landscape and see the very latest in everything from windows, doors and flooring, to paint, patios and pools. A variety of new home designs and remodeling choices will be on display by exhibiting show sponsors Tilson Homes, Ryland Homes, Trendmaker Homes, David Weekley Homes, Whitestone Builders, Emerald Custom Homes of Texas and Wm. Shaw & Associates.
NHRS’s weekend full of seminars and workshops include presentations by trade show committee members Geoff Hartmann, CSP, MCSP, of ICF International (Energy Star Homes program); Eric Alarid, GMB, CSP, of Tilson Homes; Julia Raia of Earthcare Management; and Susan Fruit, ASID, CGR, of Susan Fruit Interiors. RMC President Rob Hellyer, CGR, GMB, CAPS, of Premier Remodeling & Construction; CBC president David Gordon of Whitestone Builders; and Steven Hann, GMB of Palmetto Homes by Stephen Hann are also on the NHRS slate of speakers, as are representatives from Green Built Gulf Coast and show sponsors Ferguson Enterprises and Moen.
Show features include a return engagement by the HomeAid Houston Project Playhouse: “The Astros Express;” an outdoor living plaza and plant sale by The King’s Choice Landscape & Design at Monroe Nursery, and the “Home Furnishings & Decorative Accessories Marketplace” where attendees can purchase antiques, fixtures, furniture, fabrics and more.
The “Art Garden Sidewalk Sale” is a colorful new feature—a combination of sculptured gardens, water features and local artists offering fine art and high end crafts. Sponsored by PBS Channel 8 and Houston Community Newspapers, the Art Garden was designed and created by Earthcare Management, Magnolia Gardens and Lowe’s Water Garden.
Show partner Best Buy will give away more than 400,000 free tickets to the New Home & Remodeling Show from Memorial Day weekend through the show dates in a highly publicized promotion sponsored by Tilson Homes, Whitestone Builders and the Houston Chronicle. Volume builder and developer members are also promoting the show through a month-long campaign that will provide free tickets to real home buying prospects.
Show hours: Sat., June 11, 9am-6pm; Sun., June 12, 11am-6pm. Visit
