NAME: DAPHNÉ ARCHAMBAULT Home Town: Sherbrooke Team: Green Monster Position: handler, cutter Years Played: 3 Who is your most influential Ultimate
player and why? Marie-France Hivert because she has all the qualities of a good player and she is the first player that I would choose for my team. She’s also very involved in the sport and she’s my coach. If you could be coached by anyone who
would it be and why? As long as he has spirit, and that he felt that it was a pleasure to coach us and to play frisbee it would make me happy! What is your pre-game pump up song?
One two, GM yes we can! What is your favourite Ultimate moment?
When somebody scores and everybody runs on the field and screams: GREEN MONSTER!
NAME: ALEX BOILY Home Town: Hébertville-Station Team: Kerozen Position: D-line cutter Years Played: 3 What does “Spirit of the Game” mean to you? I think spirit of the game is the biggest part of Ultimate frisbee. I participated in a great deal of tournaments in various sports, but the feeling is not the same compared to an Ultimate frisbee tournament. Even if the game is really hard, really tight, and it may get a little bit violent because we are all fighting for the disc, it’s important to be fair with the other player at all times and to make the right call. Another example would be helping a player up from the ground if he/ she falls because of you. It keeps the game of Ultimate legit but it removes the friction be- tween the players. Seriously, Ultimate frisbee without the spirit is not the same sport! Who is your most influential Ultimate
player and why? With the exception of the people that intro- duced me to Ultimate frisbee, my most in- fluential Ultimate player is Jean-Lévy Cham- pagne. Jean-Lévy came a year ago to our re- gion to show us a few things about Ultimate frisbee. We were already playing for a few years, but we had no structure. In addition, he was the first person to encourage me to play on the junior team at CUC’s. Without him, I would never have had the chance to participate in CUC 2010 because before his visit I did not know that it even existed.

Help Japan A member of the Toronto Ultimate Club,
Ron Johnson, recently began collecting donations at some of our Winter League games, simply by bringing a bucket to the field and asking fellow players to make a small donation. One loonie turned into 2, then 4, and so on, and Ron was able to raise a sizeable donation through a simple act of kindness. Another incredible Ultimate story. The TUC in turn, has decided to match
those donations 4-to-1 and send a donation to the Japan Flying Disc Association, which in trust will channel to the relief effort it deems most fitting. At the time of writing this story, we are in contact with the International Affairs Department of the JFDA to figure out the best course of action. Over 100 countries have rescued, supported, cared for, and donated to Japan. Though it is a small amount compared to others, TUC is proud to support the Japan relief efforts through the JFDA and we encourage other Clubs in Canada to do the same.
