player and why? My first high school coach, Phelippe, gave me the passion a ultimate frisbee! If you could be coached by anyone who
would it be and why? I think that my actual coach, Sebastien Roy & Sebastien Labrecque are the best! What does “Spirit of the Game” mean to
you? Play with the passion in your eyes every second of a game! What is your pre-game pump up song? August Burns Red by The Blinding Lights What is your favourite Ultimate moment?
My first CUC, this year
NAME: FRANCESCA PIETRANTONIO Home Town: Vancouver Team: Rolling Thunder Position: Cutter Years Played: 2 Photo by: GY Photographes Who is your most influential Ultimate
player and why? The Ultimate player that has influenced me the most is also one of my best friends, Jackie (LeWackie) Kwok. She was the first person who got me into ultimate, and I even remember tossing with her everyday during the summer. This year, she was selected to play for Team Canada, and became the flag bearer at Worlds. Her dedication and love for the sport is truly inspiring. I am extremely proud of her, and I’m really glad we’re such good friends. :) What does “Spirit of the Game” mean to
you? Spirit of the Game definitely means a lot to me. It helps me show better sportsmanship, and be respectful to all the athletes. Since there are no refs in ultimate, it’s really up to the players to keep the game fair. What is your favourite Ultimate moment? Ultimate is so much fun so EVERY moment is awesome. If I had to choose, it would be doing “Operation Seal”, a trick play, with my school team. I’m not going to get into detail about it, or it would be a dead give away. :)
NAME: KYLE BRADY Home Town: Ottawa Team: X2 Position: Handler and Zone Deep Years Played: 6 Who is your most influential Ultimate
player and why? I would say that my younger brother is the most influential Ultimate player that I know. This is because as I teach him about different aspects of the game, I come to appreciate them more myself. As he grows, I hope that he continues to play and enjoy Ultimate as I do. If you could be coached by anyone who
would it be and why? If I could be coached by anyone, it would be by Colin Froats, my coach from a few years ago. He was patient, knowledgeable, and understanding, and he was as much a friend as he was a coach. Everyone on the team learned a great deal, and had a blast doing so. It would be my pleasure to work with him again. What is your favourite Ultimate moment? Any Ultimate moment in which I am actively throwing the disc.
