secured a Saturday morning date in the quarters against Traffic. Capitals looked like the Canadian team to beat and Traf- fic was eager to put it to the test. It was a wonderful display of athleticism by both teams but the experience and chemistry of Capitals could not be matched. Capitals won 15-7 setting up what looks to become a blossoming rivalry between these Cana- dian juggernauts. Traffic went on to beat Phoenix, 15-8, and Scandal, 11-9, to finish fifth overall. Capitals faced first seeded Riot in the semis. Riot had cruised through the tour- nament unscathed arriving in the semis undefeated. Capitals stayed consistent to their playing style taking advantage of some lazy Riot passing. Caps dominated in the air, which hindered Riot’s deep game. Battling the whole game, Capitals took the lead 14-13. With the game on the line, Capitals threw their zone at the tired Riot handlers. Riot couldn’t break the Canadian cup and forced a tough throw into the ground. Caps punched it in and won 15-13 to earn their spot in the Women’s Final. On the next field Fury defeated Brute Squad 15-11 to return to the Finals. Sunday morning promised to be exciting and spectators anticipated a close match. Fury looked relaxed and were bouncing around in their warmup as they are known to do. Capitals, while focused, showed some nerves. Fury has a reputation for destroying teams in Finals such as last year where they defeated Brute Squad 15-3. Early in the game it looked to be on the same path as Fury quickly built a 6-1 lead. Capitals called their second timeout and

regained focus. Both teams would break back and forth, score in pairs, but never quite change the difference. Fury won the game 15-9 and repeated as USAU Club Champions. Capitals have shown them- selves their true potential. They walked out of this tournament as one of the few teams that can play well against Fury, can defeat Riot, and belong in the finals.
